In my weeny brain the Bagpipes and the Pibby sound very different. I usually call on them for very different tasks which may sound similar.

I rarely use the pipes in the top register, something about the Pib that makes me think of a trumpet. I favour the bags as an Organ, or Oboe or Bassoon or even Bagpipes!

That should give an insight into my choice of which instruments I use and when.
